Welcome to RoofMatch, an online platform that connects homeowners with independent roofing service providers (“roofers”) across Canada. By accessing or using the RoofMatch website, mobile application, or services (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
A. General Terms (Applicable to All Users)
A.1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Platform, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. You must be at least 19 years of age and capable of entering into legally binding contracts under applicable Canadian law to use the Platform.
A.2. Role of RoofMatch
RoofMatch is a neutral venue for homeowners and independent roofers to connect. RoofMatch does not provide any roofing services and is not a party to any agreement or transaction between homeowners and roofers. All agreements and transactions are strictly between homeowners and roofers.
A.3. No Background Checks
RoofMatch does not conduct background checks, license verifications, or vetting of any kind. Homeowners are solely responsible for verifying the identity, qualifications, insurance, and reliability of other users.
A.4. Use of the Platform
You agree to use the Platform in accordance with all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, and local laws, including but not limited to Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act and consumer protection regulations. You shall not:
- Engage in any illegal activities, including unpermitted roofing work or unsafe practices.
- Post harmful, illegal, offensive, or fraudulent content.
- Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or documentation (e.g., insurance certificates, business licenses).
- Create multiple accounts, use false identities, or attempt to bypass Platform security measures (e.g., OTP verification).
- Attempt to harm or disrupt the Platform’s operation, including through hacking or malware.
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
A.5. Fees and Payments
RoofMatch does not currently process payments or charge fees for services. All financial arrangements, including pricing and payment methods, are negotiated and handled directly between homeowners and roofers. RoofMatch is not responsible for any payment disputes or transactions. Any future implementation of fees or payment processing will be clearly disclosed before use and processed through a third-party payment processor, such as Stripe.
A.6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform (text, images, graphics, software, etc.) is the property of RoofMatch or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use content without express permission from RoofMatch.
A.7. Modifications to Terms
RoofMatch reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Revised Terms will be posted on the Platform with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
A.8. Limitation of Liability
RoofMatch is not liable for any damages, losses, or injuries resulting from use of the Platform, roofer performance, or service outcomes. RoofMatch offers no protection or compensation for issues arising from services, including property damage, incomplete work, or theft. Use the Platform at your own risk.
A.9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold RoofMatch harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising out of your use of the Platform, violation of these Terms, or interactions with other users.
A.10. Termination
RoofMatch may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Platform.
A.11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable Canadian federal laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

A.14. Privacy and Data Handling
RoofMatch collects personal information, including names, addresses, and phone numbers, to facilitate connections between homeowners and roofers. Users may request access to or correction of their data by emailing support@roofmatch.ca.
A.15. Account Security and Verification
Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts, including using strong passwords and not sharing login credentials. RoofMatch verifies user accounts via one-time password (OTP) text message to ensure authenticity. Users must not create multiple accounts, use false identities, or bypass verification processes. Suspected fraudulent accounts may be suspended or terminated without notice. For account issues, contact support@roofmatch.ca.
A.16. Geographic Scope
The Platform is intended for use by residents of Canada. Users outside Canada may use the Platform but are responsible for complying with their local laws in addition to these Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable Canadian federal laws.
B. Additional Terms for Roofers
B.1. Independent Contractor Status
You acknowledge that you are an independent contractor and not an employee, agent, or partner of RoofMatch.
B.2. Insurance and Compliance
Before accepting service requests, roofers must upload proof of valid insurance and, where applicable, a business license to their profile. Upon successful upload, accounts are automatically activated, allowing homeowners to view these documents. Roofers are solely responsible for ensuring documents are accurate, valid, and compliant with all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, and local laws, including Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act. Roofers must use proper equipment and adhere to safety standards for all services. RoofMatch does not verify the authenticity of uploaded documents; homeowners are responsible for reviewing and validating them before engaging a roofer.
B.3. Profile Accuracy
You must provide complete and accurate information in your profile, including services offered, pricing (if applicable), insurance certificates, and business licenses. Accurate and complete profiles help attract homeowners. Failure to maintain accurate information may result in account suspension.
B.4. Conduct and Service Quality
Roofers agree to provide services professionally, safely, and with reasonable care, using proper equipment in compliance with all applicable laws. Roofers are solely responsible for the outcome, planning, and execution of services, as RoofMatch does not participate in service agreements or delivery. Homeowners and roofers negotiate all service details directly.
B.5. Payments
RoofMatch does not currently process payments or charge fees for services. All financial arrangements, including pricing and payment methods, are negotiated and handled directly between homeowners and roofers. RoofMatch is not responsible for any payment disputes or transactions.
C. Additional Terms for Homeowners
C.1. Due Diligence
Homeowners are responsible for reviewing roofer profiles, including qualifications, insurance documents, business licenses, reviews, and ratings, before engaging a roofer. RoofMatch does not verify the accuracy or validity of roofer documents; homeowners must independently validate all information. RoofMatch is a matching platform and does not guarantee the reliability, qualifications, or performance of roofers at this stage.
C.2. Service Agreements
Any agreements, pricing, or scope of work negotiated with a roofer are between you and the roofer directly. RoofMatch is not involved in service contracts or financial transactions.
C.3. Disputes
All disputes regarding services, including quality, completion, or payment, must be resolved directly between homeowners and roofers. RoofMatch does not mediate, arbitrate, or take responsibility for resolving disputes. For platform-related issues (e.g., account access), contact support@roofmatch.ca.
C.4. Service Execution
The planning, execution, and completion of roofing services are solely between homeowners and roofers. RoofMatch does not dictate how services are performed, including situations where homeowners are absent or work adjustments are needed. Homeowners and roofers must agree on all service details, including inspections, prior to job completion.
C.5. Marketing Communications
Homeowners may receive marketing emails from RoofMatch, including partnership campaign announcements. To opt out, use the “unsubscribe” link in emails or contact support@roofmatch.ca.
D. Partnership Marketing Campaigns
D.1. Marketing Campaigns
RoofMatch may offer partnership marketing campaigns to promote the Platform or partnered services. These campaigns will be communicated via email, and users may opt out as described in section A.14. RoofMatch does not currently offer promotional discounts or fee reductions, as no payment processing is available. Any future changes to this policy will be updated in these Terms.
