RoofMatch connects homeowners with independent roofing service providers (“roofers”) and acts solely as a matching platform. By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

We collect information to provide and improve our Services, which connect homeowners with roofers across Canada.

a. Personal Information
When you register as a homeowner or roofer, we collect:

Name
Email address
Phone number
Mailing address

b. Service-Related Information

Homeowners: Project details (e.g., property type, scope, location).
Roofers: Business name, insurance certificates, business licenses, service coverage areas.

c. Usage Data

IP address
Device type, operating system, and browser
Pages visited, time spent, access times

d. Communications

Messages, emails, support requests, and feedback sent to us.
SMS notifications for job leads, account verification, or platform updates.

e. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

2. How We Use Your Information

Facilitate connections between homeowners and roofers through automated matching based on geographic proximity and project details.

Ensure platform security, detect and prevent fraud (e.g., via OTP text message verification).
Respond to inquiries and fulfill legal obligations under Canadian law.

You may receive marketing communications (e.g., emails or SMS about partnership campaigns) and can opt out at any time as described in section 4.b. We do not record calls or messages sent through the platform.

3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information or share it for marketing purposes without your consent. We may share your information in the following cases:

With Roofers or Homeowners: To enable matches, project details and profiles (e.g., name, contact information, service details) are shared between homeowners and roofers.
With Service Providers: Third parties, such as hosting providers (e.g., AWS) and analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics), may access your data to operate our Services. These providers are contractually required to safeguard your data.
Partnership Campaigns: RoofMatch handles all communications for partnership marketing campaigns and does not share your data with partners for these purposes.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of RoofMatch or its users.
Business Transfers: If RoofMatch is involved in a sale, merger, or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the new entity, with notice to users.

a. Access & Update
You may access or update your personal data via your account settings or by contacting support@roofmatch.ca.

b. Opt-Out of Marketing
You can opt out of promotional emails via the unsubscribe link or by contacting support@roofmatch.ca. For SMS, contact support@roofmatch.ca. No additional fees are charged for SMS, but standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply.

c. Cookies
You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some platform features.

d. Privacy Rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

Access your personal data.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements, by emailing support@roofmatch.ca.
We will respond to requests within 30 days, as required by PIPEDA. Automated matching decisions (e.g., based on geographic proximity) are final and not subject to contest.

5. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures, including encryption, firewalls, and secure servers, to protect your data. Account verification via OTP text messages helps prevent unauthorized access. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee protection against all breaches or unauthorized access. Users are responsible for maintaining secure passwords and not sharing login credentials.

6. Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as needed to provide our Services or comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax or regulatory requirements). Data may be retained for up to 7 years for legal compliance. Inactive accounts may be deleted after 7 years, unless otherwise required by law. You may request deletion of your data by emailing support@roofmatch.ca , subject to legal retention requirements.

7. Third-Party Links
Our Services may link to third-party websites (e.g., roofing suppliers, roofer websites). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.

8. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 19. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

9. International Users
RoofMatch operates in Canada, and all data is stored and processed on servers in Canada, in compliance with PIPEDA. By using our Services from outside Canada, you consent to the transfer of your information to Canadian servers. No additional safeguards are provided for international data transfers.

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our website. The updated policy will be posted with a new “Last updated” date. Please check this page regularly to stay informed.
